How We Support Foster Families

We offer wrap-around supportive services for our families throughout their foster care journey.

Foster Parent Ambassadors

Ambassadors are seasoned foster parents who serve as resources for potential and current foster parents. They offer encouragement and answer questions. We believe it’s extremely important to connect with other foster families, who understand the struggles of foster parenting.

Foster Care Therapist

Katie Szerkins is our Foster Care Resident Therapist. She provides individual and family therapy to foster children, foster parents, biological children, and family members working to reunify with children in the Foundations Foster Care Program. Services can take place in person at the Green Bay clinic, virtually, or hybrid. Sessions are free of charge.

“As a therapist I offer warm, empathic, fun, and client centered sessions, the optimal setting for growth and healing. I am here to walk this journey with you!” ~Katie

Foster Parent Consultants

Foster Parent Consultants are licensed therapists at Foundations Health & Wholeness who provide psycho-education to foster parents to help support them in the care of children and teens. Educational sessions are offered at no charge to foster parents.

Capturing Hope

Capturing Hope is an initiative of Foster Care by Foundations to capture what family means for our foster families. By capturing pictures at adoption days, senior pictures, and other memorable events, we share the hope and love that our families experience. Photography sessions and digital copies are offered at no cost to foster families by Jackie Baumgart and Nicole Klug, who are members of the foster care team.
