Sara Wisneski, LPC

Works with Clients 13 Years Old through Adults (Virtual Only)

PASSION POINT: Helping clients gain new insights, build resilience, and practice self-compassion

As a therapist, I feel honored and privileged to be able to make connections with many different people, hear their unique stories, and provide them with empathy and support. I believe therapy should be a safe space for clients to express their thoughts and feelings, so I meet clients where they are, go at their pace, and tailor my therapeutic approach based on their specific needs.

I have a calm, gentle, and friendly demeanor which helps clients feel at ease when they enter my office. I have always been a great listener, so I tend to use a person-centered approach. I can be sarcastic at times and enjoy using wit and humor during my sessions as well.

I have experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and grief in a clinic setting and have also worked with homeless adults in community-based clinics. In addition, I am trained in Brainspotting (BSP), a treatment that can benefit those who have experienced physical and/or emotional trauma.

My Philosophy

I believe everyone has the power within themselves to create positive and lasting change in their own lives. I help clients identify and challenge maladaptive thoughts and behaviors that have prohibited them from reaching their full potential. I view therapy as a collaborative approach, so I will walk with the client through the ups and downs of life while helping them identify and utilize their own strengths to overcome adversity.

My Approach

I tend to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in combination with Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and/or Mindfulness, but I always tailor my approach to best meet each individual’s needs.
