A Health Update from Ryan Good, Foundations Health & Wholeness President & CEO

March 16, 2020

Health Update for Our Clients, Foster Parents, and Friends:

In this time of declared emergencies and social distancing, we want to give you updates about our mental health counseling and foster care programming.

Counseling
Our therapists remain available for individual appointments to help our therapy clients heal mind and spirit. If you don’t feel comfortable coming to your appointment, or if you feel ill, please call our client engagement team at 920-437-8256 to reschedule your appointment. We are waiving late cancellation fees through April 3. For clients who come into our clinic locations for their individual sessions, you will be asked three questions about your physical health and may be asked to reschedule your appointment.

Regarding the possibility of virtual counseling, telehealth for psychotherapy in Wisconsin is complex. We understand that some of the regulations have been loosened due to the state emergency, and we are working diligently to determine if telehealth is an option for our counseling practice. Please stay tuned for updates.

Foster Care
Home visits with current foster families will continue, and case managers continue to be available for the children and families we serve. In-person training to license new foster parents and ongoing training for current foster parents is canceled. We’ll be arranging video trainings to the extent possible or will reschedule the trainings. For our foster parent recruiting efforts, we’ll be meeting virtually or via phone with potential foster parents.

Generally
In addition to the above, we are canceling all non-essential meetings with people outside the organization now through April 3. We’ll do our best to turn face-to-face meetings into conference calls or video meetings. The upcoming Community Meditation Night on 3/24 is postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. We’ll evaluate our procedures as the days progress and update you as information changes.

Thank you for your continued trust in our mission.

Peace,
Ryan Good
